One Patient's Positive Perspectives

Chicken Soup for the autoimmune soul

Chicken noodle soup has amazing powers to heal sicknesses and restore almost anyone to health. This afternoon, our friend dropped by with a meal for my family of homemade chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, rolls and even a cake for dessert. His wife had extended us the ultimate kindness of cooking enough for her own family and ours, and sent her husband on his afternoon errand of encouragement.

Tonight all I see are the blessings

After a couple of weeks of facing the adventure of bronchitis, lupus finally reared its head along with bronchitis’ coughing and hacking.  Arizona had a late winter cold snap and rainy storm, and yesterday morning my old “friend” lupus arthritis woke me up.  It seems all the extra bursts of steroids are gone now, and I am feeling the joint pain!  I spent yet another Sunday in bed, coughing and hurting together. A truly skip-able experience!

It seems the thought of the caring provision of dinner nearly wipes away all the thoughts of lingering illness, at least for tonight. Those who have friends like these are truly blessed, as if healed from the inside out by chicken soup for an autoimmune soul. Right now, all I see are the blessings.

It is great that you dropped in and introduced yourself today! It sounds like you are having a rough time of it with your lupus. I hope for you that Benlysta will make a great difference over time, but don’t be disappointed if it takes a little while longer. LA

  2. I am sorry to hear you are still not well. I pray the Lord touch you and restore you to health. So glad for your blessing.
